Central Dust Extraction System — Aircraft Maintenance Composites Workshop, Jeddah
Prime contractor: design, supply, installation and commissioning of a central dust extraction system for composite sanding and finishing operations.
Capture velocities, duct sizing, pressure-drop calculations and filter selection matched to your dust and process.
Ductwork, filtration units, fans and controls delivered as one integrated, balanced system.
Supply and installation of mobile units for flexible workstations, maintenance bays and temporary operations.
Explosion isolation and venting as specified by the dust hazard analysis and project requirements.
Site installation, airflow verification at each capture point and documented handover.
Filter replacement, spare parts and preventive maintenance contracts after handover.
| Fixed vs portable | Fixed / central system | Portable units |
|---|---|---|
| Best for | Dedicated workstations and continuous production with many capture points | Changing layouts, few workstations, maintenance and temporary tasks |
| Capture method | Ducted source-capture hoods, downdraft tables and booths connected to a central filter unit | Self-contained unit with flexible hose or on-tool extraction at the source |
| Footprint | Filter unit usually outside or in a plant room; ductwork overhead | Floor-standing unit beside the workstation |
| Lead time | Engineered project — design, fabrication and installation phases | Shorter — supply, configuration and installation |
| Typical users | Aviation MRO composite shops, manufacturing plants, woodworking and process lines | Maintenance teams, small shops, pilot lines and contractors |

DusTech operates an Integrated Management System certified to ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 (certified scope: industrial dust removal and cleaning services). Dust extraction projects are delivered under the same quality, environmental and OH&S procedures.
Certified scope: Provision of industrial dust removal and cleaning services, including internal high-level cleaning, industrial vacuum extraction, ATEX Zone 22 cleaning for hazardous dust environments, and external gutter and downpipe cleaning using ground-operated systems.
It depends on the number of workstations, how often the layout changes and the dust type. Fixed central systems suit dedicated, continuous operations with many capture points; portable units suit flexible or low-volume work. Many facilities combine both — the site assessment establishes the right mix.
Portable units can be supplied and installed in a shorter window. Central systems are engineered projects with design, supply and installation phases; we confirm a programme in the proposal once the scope is defined.
In most cases installation is phased around your operations, with tie-ins scheduled for planned downtime, weekends or off-shifts. The approach is agreed during engineering.
Where the dust is combustible, systems are designed in accordance with ATEX 2014/34/EU and NFPA 652/660, with explosion isolation or venting as specified. Equipment is sourced from TÜV SÜD ATEX-certified OEM partners.
