The phrase “ATEX equipment” is not a complete selection specification. Suitability depends on the assessed environment, material and intended use of the whole arrangement.

Start with the site requirements

Obtain the relevant area classification and material information from competent personnel. Clarify whether the task involves settled-dust collection, process capture or another duty. Unknown requirements should be resolved before mobilisation.

Match the documentation

Review the equipment marking, declaration and instructions, plus any relevant certification documents and special conditions of use. Check the category, dust group, temperature limits and other application restrictions. Confirm that the supplied accessories are permitted for the intended configuration.

Keep the evidence available

Record the equipment identity, inspection status and operator familiarisation. Include procedures for cleaning, emptying and responding to faults. A certificate attached to a quotation does not establish that the delivered configuration is suitable for every task. DusTech can help coordinate the equipment selection brief and supporting documentation, while site-specific hazard assessment remains the basis for deciding what is required.
