Before Each Shift: Checks for a Portable Extraction Unit

A daily checklist should reflect the actual machine and task. It supports the manufacturer’s instructions and site procedures; it does not replace scheduled maintenance or specialist inspections.
Check the complete arrangement
Confirm the unit is approved for the assigned material and location. Inspect the hose, tool, connections and visible seals for damage. Check that the intended filter and collection container are fitted, with enough capacity for the planned work.
Confirm the operating indications
Review alarms and any flow or pressure indication specified for the equipment. Listen for unusual operation and check capture at the working point using the approved method. Do not continue simply because the motor sounds normal.
Know when to stop
Define who receives fault reports and how equipment is isolated from use. Damaged accessories, unexplained alarms or suspected contamination should not be solved by bypassing protection or fitting an unapproved replacement. Record defects so recurring problems can be investigated. DusTech can include operator familiarisation in an equipment handover, helping the team connect simple daily observations with the correct maintenance response.
