Adding a Production Line? Reassess Extraction Before Connecting It

A new production line can change the extraction demand of an entire facility. Connecting it to an existing branch without review may weaken capture at both the new and original stations.

Revisit the original assumptions

Compare the new material, dust loading and operating hours with the existing design basis. Identify which stations will run simultaneously and whether the material can safely share the network.

Check more than the fan

Duct transport, filter loading, waste capacity, controls and protective measures may all need reassessment. A larger fan alone may not solve the constraint and can exceed the limits of other components. Any modification should follow an engineered change process.

Plan verification and handover

Arrange installation access, production coordination and repeat measurements at affected points. Update drawings, operating instructions and maintenance records after the change. A portable solution may support a suitable temporary task, but only when assessed for that duty; it should not become an undocumented permanent workaround. DusTech can review expansion options before equipment is ordered, reducing the risk of an extraction bottleneck at start-up.
