Portable extraction can support work that moves between bays or benches. Each move, however, changes the relationship between the source, hood, operator and surrounding airflow.

Define a permitted setup

Record the approved task, accessories and positioning guidance. Check that the unit’s working range suits the required reach and that the operator can maintain the hood position without obstructing the task.

Assess the destination

Confirm the electrical supply, traffic routes and environmental conditions at the new position. A unit suitable for one area is not necessarily suitable for another hazardous classification or material. Keep hoses protected from vehicles and avoid blocking access routes.

Make relocation a controlled routine

Use a short setup check before restarting work, including an appropriate confirmation of capture. Where frequent moves lead to inconsistent positioning, a dedicated station or fixed connection may be more practical. DusTech can compare mobile and fixed arrangements against how the team actually works. Portability should improve flexibility without turning each job into an unverified experiment.
